Your Safety Matters

Crisis & Emergency Policy

Your Safety Matters

If you're reading this because you're overwhelmed, frightened, unsure what to do next, or simply searching for help...

We want you to know one thing before anything else:

You do not have to face this alone.

Your safety and well-being are more important than any feature within CTRL Anger.

CTRL Anger was created to help people build healthier emotional regulation skills, strengthen self-awareness, and respond more intentionally to life's challenges.

However...

There are moments when the best next step isn't another journal entry.

It isn't another Calm Session.

It isn't another conversation with Michael.

Sometimes...

The strongest thing a person can do is reach out to another human being.

If you believe you are in immediate danger, please stop using the app and seek emergency assistance immediately.

You matter more than the app.

What CTRL Anger Is Designed To Do

CTRL Anger is designed to support long-term emotional growth by helping members:

  • Understand emotional triggers

  • Practice emotional regulation skills

  • Increase self-awareness

  • Improve communication

  • Build healthier behavioral habits

  • Strengthen accountability

  • Develop practical coping strategies

  • Learn evidence-informed emotional wellness techniques

These tools are intended to support learning and personal growth over time.

When CTRL Anger Is Not Enough

There are situations where technology should never replace immediate human care.

Please do not rely on CTRL Anger if you or someone else is experiencing:

Immediate danger

Thoughts of suicide or self-harm

Thoughts of harming another person

A medical emergency

A psychiatric emergency

A drug or alcohol overdose

Severe emotional distress that feels uncontrollable

Hallucinations or loss of contact with reality

Domestic violence requiring immediate assistance

Child abuse or neglect requiring immediate protection

Elder abuse requiring immediate protection

Any situation where someone's safety is at immediate risk

These situations deserve immediate attention from trained professionals.

If You Need Immediate Help

If you believe you are experiencing an emergency:

  • Contact your local emergency services immediately.

  • Go to the nearest emergency department.

  • Contact a trusted family member or friend.

  • Reach out to a licensed mental health professional.

  • Contact an available crisis service in your area.

If speaking feels difficult...

Send a text.

If texting feels difficult...

Knock on a neighbor's door.

If you can do only one thing...

Let another human being know that you need help.

You do not have to carry overwhelming moments by yourself.

About Michael™

Michael™ is designed to support reflection and emotional learning.

Michael is not monitored in real time.

Michael cannot:

  • Contact emergency services

  • Call 911

  • Notify family members

  • Dispatch first responders

  • Detect every crisis situation

  • Replace trained crisis professionals

If Michael encourages you to seek immediate help, please take that recommendation seriously.

Supporting Someone Else

Sometimes you may open CTRL Anger because you're worried about someone you care about.

If you believe another person may be in immediate danger:

  • Stay with them if it is safe to do so.

  • Encourage them to seek immediate professional help.

  • Contact emergency services when appropriate.

  • Reach out to trusted family members or support persons if necessary.

  • Do not assume someone else has already taken action.

Your willingness to act could make an important difference.

Why We Created This Policy

It may seem unusual for a technology company to encourage people to close its app.

We believe it's the right thing to do.

There are moments when technology can be incredibly helpful.

There are also moments when another human being is exactly what someone needs.

Recognizing the difference is part of building technology responsibly.

Our Promise

At Dempsey Technologies, we believe responsible technology begins with honesty.

We'll never suggest that CTRL Anger can replace emergency services.

We'll never pretend that artificial intelligence is a substitute for human compassion.

We'll never place engagement ahead of someone's safety.

If there is ever a moment when another person can provide the help you need better than our technology can...

We hope you'll choose the person.

Because no app should ever become more important than your life.

Our Commitment

Everything we build is guided by one belief:

Technology should support people.

It should never replace the compassion, expertise, and human connection that people sometimes need most.

If CTRL Anger helps you pause before reacting...

If it helps you better understand yourself...

If it helps you build healthier relationships...

Then we've accomplished what we set out to do.

But if today is a day when you need more than we can offer...

Please reach out.

Someone is worth calling.

Someone is worth trusting.

And most importantly...

You are worth helping.
